Good Morning! Gong Hei fat choi! Happy New Year!
Time goes fast, but happy times pass even faster. Last year we all gathered here to celebrate the year of the Dog, but this year it’s the year of the pig. With only 2 weeks to go, we take this opportunity today to welcome, enjoy and celebrate the new lunar year.
Pig is generally considered by many as being “ lazy and stupid” which is not true.
Because within the 12 animals in the Chinese horoscope, Pig is regarded as being full of fortune, peaceful and joyful, Which means to say that the year ahead should bring good luck and fortune. I wish all of you a successful and prosperous year of the PIG.
I also take this opportunity to again express my sincere thanks to the sponsors who have made significant contributions to this event and to our stall clients who are as committed.
Your support has enabled Auckland Chinese Community Centre over the last 15 years to successfully organize what is being regarded as the largest annual event in the Chinese community.
I together with all the team members in Auckland Chinese Community who have contributed to this event are very proud of our achievements.
I wish all of you a very Happy and healthy New Year.
Enjoy the day.
