(Address all V.I.P, distinguished guests, ladies & gentlemen, honourable….)
Good evening. On behalf of the New Zealand Guangdong Association, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. Thank you very much for your presence on this important occasion: the inaugural ceremony of New Zealand Guangdong Association.
It is my pleasure to see so many distinguished guests and enthusiastic overseas Chinese to gather here tonight to witness this important event. We are honoured to be part of the big family of overseas Chinese. The Guangdong province, being one of the larger provinces in China, Guangdong plays a very important role in helping China developing into a super power of the world. To keep pace with China’s economic and cultural development, Guangdong people whether currently living in China or overseas will continue to make valuable contribution to China’s development. Accordingly, the formation of Guangdong associations in different parts of the world is a trend to enhance such contribution. Finally, a Guangdong Association is found in this beautiful country called New Zealand. One of our missions is to work for the benefit of Chinese here and our homeland. With your support, we will continue to foster friendship, co-operation and development and to serve as a bridge facilitating communication between New Zealand government and different local Chinese communities. In short, you support to New Zealand Guangdong Association incorporated is crucial to our success in serving Chinese compatriots from Guangdong in New Zealand and China. Thank you very much & enjoy the evening.
